Remember my kitchen curtain failure? I got some new tea towels to hang instead of the multi colored ones. They're a lot more structured which makes a big difference in how they hang and at $4 per panel they're cheaper than regular curtains.

Wat Up?

QUICK UPDATE
  • Been taking my regular college classes and a 6 week CNA training course. My unemployment ends in about 5 or 6 weeks so it's back to work for me soon hopefully.
  • Got sick with an ulcer and thyroid problems and lost 15-ish pounds in a couple months.
  • Been through 2 rounds of severe weather here in TN and it's only the beginning of March. Nobody died in our area this time around but several people were injured and many homes were lost or damaged in the Chattanooga area.
  • Lydia scored in the top 2% of students on her Explore test which I guess is like an SAT indicator. I'm proud of her.
  • My parents are coming to visit soon.
  • Have had to deal lately with a lot of worries that have been accumulating over the past few months which resulted in the previously mentioned ulcer I'm sure, although supposedly ulcers aren't caused by stress. I'm not so sure. Anyway it nearly cost me an important relationship and was making me miserable and depressed. Identifying something is half the battle and I'm pretty sure another quarter of the battle is making a choice to change your way of thinking. I know that isn't always possible in the case of, say, clinical depression, but all we can do is make the best choices we can however small. I know many of you are struggling with depression and I pray God's grace for you.

Orlando

There's something about Orlando that captured my heart and won't let go. It's not the Magic Kingdom or other tourist attractions that locked me in, but the energy, the sunshine, the wealth of people with beautiful hearts, the f-o-o-d, and most of all my friend Connie. I think Orlando is so special to me because I "grew up" there. When I packed my house and moved from Bradenton I was a mess. I wasn't happy. I was struggling to go to church, hating ever second of it. I was enmeshed in family dynamics that weren't healthy and was living in an area of the state that constantly reminded me of mistakes I had made that I never felt I could shake. After a few years of living in this new town, I had a job and co-workers I adored, a friend who felt like family who taught me so many things by example, and my pockets jammed full of tiny scraps of happy memories.

If, perhaps, you arrived at this post while googling Orlando Bloom, I am throwing you a bone, as I strive not to disappoint.

Back to the poinit though, I am sooo ready for a road trip. This time last year we were already on our way down there and if it weren't for my night classes we'd be on our way again.

Lydia, here!

oh brother .. that seems to have been my motto for the past few weeks.
do you ever feel like giving up? like nothing ever goes your way? like as soon as things start to look up, you plummet into darkness again?
well, i might as well quote some good ol' hannah montana here, and say: everybody has those days.
or, in some cases, weeks, months, years, etc.
but you just have to remember that this is just one tiny part of your life. whatever might be going wrong right now, it will get better. take it from me. everything always gets better. it may take a while- a LONG while, sometimes- but it will get better. i promise, if you really try, things will eventually look up. while i'm having a "hannah montana quotes come to my mind all day" day........ life's a climb, but the view is great.
keep your head up high, and don't turn back. bye loves <3

PS.. i'm going to start posting on here more. i know it's been FOREVER, but you can expect to hear a lot more from this little girl :) ok... well... bye now... for real this time. promise. ok... bye.
